Teaching English

"What nobler employment, or more valuable to the state, than that of the man who instructs the rising generation?"
Marcus Tullius Cicero

Self reliance is another major goal which Chetana wanted to achieve when it was formed two years ago. And now Chetana Conscience of women has come up with its new project "Teach India" along with Times of India.
Chetana began the three – month project on 21 May 2013 in its Paharganj office with support of the Times of India officers and hard work of Chetana members.
The Teach India Programme aims to provide customised content for learners through the English for Employability programme. The overarching aim of the project has been to improve the employability of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who did not complete secondary education and studied at a non-English language school.
The response to the project has been tremendous till now. Twenty five girls from Space Institute, Guru Ram School, have been the beneficiaries of the programme.
The programme guarantees to provide them with placements after they complete the course. Along with spoken English, girls are also given grooming sessions which will help them during their job interviews.
The project is at its elementary phase right now, but Chetana aims to expand the Spoken English programme to more and more unprivileged girls who want to become self independent.
So Chetana invites volunteers who are willing to give 5 hours of the week to the project. The timings are flexible. The volunteers would be granted certificates after success completion of the project.
