Let her study, Let her live.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

I have this habit of using some or the other Proverb or short texts which are sort of inspiring to begin with my texts but sometime they get controversial, take the one above for instance one can comment even without completely reading that the issue you are writing about is women centric then why have you used the masculine proverbial thought that “Give a MAN” or “Teach a MAN”, But the same person of this internet friendly generation if questioned about the status of Education of female in their house excluding a few others go point blank. They don’t speak of it but only one thought wanders their mind- ‘what will she do after studying or training for a job one day she has to get married and live off her husband’, This very thought have ruined the career of millions of Indian girls, that could have made the country proud, if not that she could have at least raised her voice against any man knowing she can make it on her in this cruel male-dominant Indian society.

Seldom Indian families allow their girls to go for higher studies many a times they are not even allowed to have the basic education, even after the strict government rules and all the efforts, education is forbidden to many children specially a girl child.

A government scheme that is just extra ordinary-

 The Kanyashree Prakalpa scheme-

This scheme has been launched by the state government of west Bengal that ensures that girls get to go for higher studies and refuse to get married. it promises a one-time grant of Rs 25,000 to girls 18 years and above, who have remained unmarried to pursue an education or professional training.

Moreover, the initiative extends to all unmarried girls between 13 and 19 years with the state Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare providing them an annual scholarship of Rs 500.

The Government of India and many NGO's plan a plethora of reforms &  activities for the welfare of children and education of the girl child, but they can go nowhere when the patriarchal mindset still prevails, all of it is successful when we let her study and let her live.
